Maroochy Beach Gymnastics, through Gymnastics Australia, understand the growing concerns over the outbreak of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) and the implications it is having on the community. We will continue to adhere to advice provided by government organisations, public health units and the World Health Organisation, who are providing accurate, timely and detailed updates relevant to the sporting and the wider community.
Our classes will continue to operate as normal at this point in time and we have implemented a POSITIVE ACTION PLAN
Maroochy Beach Gymnastics prioritise the safety and welfare of all gymnasts, families, staff and the broader community. We kindly ask gymnasts and parents to follow commonsense procedures, and hygiene practices and precautions.
In line with the recent announcement of the Australian Government, Maroochy Beach Gymnastics request that any person who has arrived in Australia – including those returning from international travel, or who think they may have been in close contact with a confirmed case of coronavirus, are required to self-isolate and not attend class nor the Maroochy Beach Gymnastics Club venue, for 14 days following their return to/arrival in Australia. We also request that any person residing in the same household as a person who has arrived in Australia – including those returning from international travel, or who think they may have been in close contact with a confirmed case of coronavirus, are required to self-isolate and not attend class nor the Maroochy Beach Gymnastics Club venue, for 14 days following the person’s return to/arrival in Australia.
Any gymnast who is feeling unwell should remain resting at home until fully recovered. Please continue to encourage good hand and respiratory hygiene with your children:“Cover your mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing with a tissue, or cough into your elbow, dispose of the tissue into a bin and then wash your hands afterwards. Wash your hands regularly, after using the toilet, and before eating.”
We encourage everyone to remain vigilant, calm and more importantly, visit your GP immediately if you are feeling unwell and have been to, or have been in contact with anyone who may be affected.
